AWP Annual Conference and BookfairI spent two days last week at the Associated Writing Program’s annual convention here in Chicago. One of the highlights was the National Book Critics Circle Reading. Bonnie Jo Campbell read from her collection, American Salvage, about a guy married to a meth addict and his list of possible options for dealing with her addiction, which ranged from killing her, killing himself, or making her dinner. Funny, poignant, brutally true. Plus she seemed like a cool person.

Welcome to my new site!

After many months of development (mainly searching for a web designer), my new site is here!  Thanks to Lindsey French for design, Johanna Winter Harper for the line illustrations of the icons, and to Andrea Pelose for her unstoppable energy and attention to detail.  Yay!  We're still working out some of the kinks, but my main hope for the site was to make it an archive of some selected works and a place for "microblogs" about my current activities.  And now my dear friends can stop worrying that my old bio only said I had one daughter.  Number two is included here (it only took two years)!
